Over the years, AAI & Spalding have been selected as the official equipment supplier for dozens of major competitions, including the 1996 and 1984 Olympic Games, World Championships, Goodwill Games, Pan American Games, Special Olympics, NBA and NCAA Championships.

Beyond simply providing exceptional equipment, AAI and Spalding bring a team of highly trained professional technicians with over 100 years of cumulative experience to seamlessly navigate the demands of major events, ensuring smooth operations and understand how to work with television crews to keep an event running on schedule. Additionally, they have a network of US dealers that supply equipment to hundreds of events annually.

Gymnastics

AAI started as the Official Equipment Supplier for USA Gymnastics since the organization was founded in the ‘60s, and in 1966, became the first company to produce a fiberglass bar, which revolutionized the sport of gymnastics. AAI is also the only U.S. equipment manufacturer whose line of gymnastics products has been tested and approved by the Federation Internationale de Gymnastique.

Our rich heritage and contributions such as the AAI Award to collegiate athletes down to Regional Rebates to support grassroots programs and high school scholarships have undeniably left a significant mark on the sport of gymnastics.

Our innovative equipment designs, commitment to quality, and support for competitive excellence have helped shape the training environment, enhance performance capabilities, and allow Team USA to dominate consistently as majority of US athletes train on AAI & Spalding Equipment.

Volleyball

During the 1980s, when interest increased in the international sport of volleyball, AAI broadened its volleyball equipment line and aggressively increased its sales of equipment for volleyball competitions. AAI’s volleyball systems were used extensively in major national and international competitions.

The University of Hawaii selected AAI for exclusive use for the 1999 Women’s NCAA Volleyball Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii. AAI also became the Official Equipment Supplier to USA Volleyball, the national governing body for the sport until the partnership changed.

Basketball

In 1996, AAI acquired Basketball Products International (BPI) which was founded in 1981 producing a high quality line of basketball backstops, backboards, goals and accessories.

When purchased by Russell Athletic in 2004, it made AAI/Spalding the world’s largest basketball supplier. For over 30 years, Spalding proudly supplied the NBA and continues with their commitment to service to this day along with the NCAA.

AAI/Spalding’s commitment to providing high-quality, high-performance products to allow athletes to pursue their dreams has been unchanged for 70 years.
