The new 8’x15′ 6″x12cm mat is designed to function like the previous 416-197 balance beam end mats, but with an upgrade: added hook-and-loop fasteners, allowing it to secure connect to the new 4’x4’ beam mat.
The new 8’x15′ 6″x12cm mat is designed to function like the previous 416-197 balance beam end mats, but with an upgrade: added hook-and-loop fasteners on the top surface. This allows the mat to securely connect to the new 4’x4’ beam mats, creating a stable and secure complete mat system.
Together, this system enhances protection around the beam fillers and meets USA Gymnastics event requirements.
Crafted with the same hand-sewn precision and premium materials our products are known for; this mat delivers exceptional durability and long-lasting performance. It features 2” hook on the top of the mat and 2” of loop on the underside of the flap at the opposite end, making it easy to connect to both the beam filler and the 4’x4’ beam mats.
*Per the 2025-2026 USA Gymnastics rules and policies (page 81) – beam dismount matting requirements must include a minimum of 4 feet by 4 feet of padding between the end of the beam and the under-beam matting.
This mat measures 188 inches long by 96 inches wide and 12 centimeters thick.

Complete Balance Beam Mat System
A complete balance beam mat system is composed of a Beam Filler System, two 416-197 mats, two 416-227 mats, and four 416-229 mats. It also utilizes 4 – 40” Hook and Loop Straps (45069) and 2- 48” Hook and Loop Straps (45074). This configuration creates full coverage around the beam and meets USA Gymnastics Event Specifications.
